Summer is here, and with it comes a steady stream of fireworks — most of which are in honor of Fourth of July, and many of of which are on July 4. Fireworks displays in towns across Massachusetts will be held every weekend through mid-July, and the Department of Fire Services (DFS) is expected to approve more permits for towns in the coming days and weeks.
The most notable fireworks celebration in the region each year is the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, which returns to the Esplanade on July 4 with a headlining set from and a fireworks show accompanied by conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra. But the annual concert is hardly the only Fourth of July weekend celebration worth checking out, as many towns in the region have honed their own spectacular fireworks shows for decades now.
Below you’ll find a list of more than 100 fireworks celebrations scheduled to take place in Massachusetts now through the end of summer. So the next time you look out the window and ask yourself, “Wait, are there fireworks near me right now?,” you’ll have all the information you need.

Fireworks will be viewable from both the Boston and Cambridge sides of the Charles River. The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular takes place at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. "The Oval" in front of the Hatch Shell opens to the public at noon.
Watching the fireworks from the Esplanade—roughly between the Museum of Science down to the Boston University Bridge—is a quintessential Boston experience, although not suggested for the agoraphobic.
What time do the Boston fireworks start? The 2024 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will return to the DCR Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston for its 50th anniversary on Thursday, July 4. The annual concert kicks off at 8 p.m., and the 30-minute fireworks show starts at 10:30 p.m.
Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will be broadcast on Bloomberg Television. If you have DISH or DirectTV, Bloomberg Television is on the same channel regardless of where you are in the Greater Boston area: DISH: 203. DirecTV: 353.
Keith Lockhart will lead a program featuring the Boston Pops orchestra with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and R&B/soul singer Darlene Love, along with headliner Broadway star Kelli O'Hara ("The King and I", "Kiss Me Kate"), and the Americana group The Mavericks.
Enjoy beautiful Salisbury Beach concerts and fireworks every Saturday night from 7:30 – 10:30 pm during the summer. The fireworks generally start at 10:15 pm and finish around 10:30 pm.
Our annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration will be on Saturday, July 8th at the Loop starting at 5:30pm. Three live bands, dozens of games, 360 Video Booth, characters, food trucks, face paintings and so much more! Fireworks show begins at 9:30pm.
Food and Music starts at 6:00 pm. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm. There is no alcohol permitted on site. No personal fireworks or sparklers (illegal in Massachusetts).
